ગુજજૂ દેસી / Gujjoo Desi

હું હેમંત. પિતા, માતા, પત્ની,જ્યેષ્ઠ પુત્રી - બધા જ શિક્ષકો! હું અને અમારી નાની બીજી કેડીએ ચાલ્યા.પણ ગળથૂથી માં અગાધ સંસ્કાર મળ્યા! ભાષા અને વ્યવહાર, કુદરત અને કળા, વાંચન, સંગીત, કરકસર, સ્વાવલંબન, ફોટોગ્રાફી, સુસંગત, અને ભ્રમણ: ડુંગરા, ઝાડ-પાન, ફૂલ-ફળાદી, પક્ષી, પ્રાણી, જીવ-જંતુ બસ, આવાજ વાતાવરણમાં ઉછર્યો. અંજની ઉર્ફ અંજુ. મિત્ર યુગલે અમને ભેગા કર્યાં, “તારા જેવા જ ગાંડા શોખ છે”. મહા સત્ય! ગોંડલ ની દીકરી, અને એક પેઢીએ ગોંડલના વિદ્યા મંત્રીતો બેજી બાજુ ગોંડલના મુખ્ય ઇજનેર. પિતા ની કળા ની દ્રષ્ટી અને માતા નો શિસ્ત, વ્યવહાર અને ઉદારતા નો વારસો, એમાં ઉમેરાયો  કુદરત નો પ્રેમ, મુઠ્ઠી માં  મસ્તી - એવી અમારી જોડી; પૂર્ણ થઈ બન્ને તનયા થી - એવી કે ગર્વ સમાતો નથી.

અધુરામાં પૂરું  કરવા અમને યોગ નો વિષય મળ્યો. જાણે જીવન નું કર્મ મળ્યું,  નવું ચૈતન્ય મળ્યું, અને તે પણ ગુરુ નહીં મહાગુરુ  - સ્વ. યોગાચાર્ય શ્રી બેલુર કૃષ્ણમાચાર સુંદરરાજ  આયંગર - ના હાથે. - જાણે આયુષ્ય નું પરીવર્તન થયું. યોગાસન, યોગશાસ્ત્ર અને ગુરુજી નું યોગપરીવાર - સંસ્કારી, સુવિચારી, અને અનહદ પ્રેમાળ - મળ્યું. વિક્રમ સંવત ૨૦૭૦ માં નિવૃત્ત થયો, અને બડબડ કરવાનું આદર્યું. જ્ઞાન, વિદ્યા ભણતર, સંસ્કાર, ભાષા, શસ્ત્રો ના ઇતિહાસ,  પર ધ્યાન પરોવ્યું, વિચાર કર્યાં,વિમર્ષ થયો, ભ્રમણ તો ચાલુ જ હતું, અને આ બ્લોગ નો ઉદ્ભવ થયો.

I am Hemant, with teachers in my lineage, peerage and descendants! Our younger one and I walked a different path, but we inherited a vast cloud of values. Language, literature, love of reading, music - Hindustaani classical, folk, and filmy, nature, art, photography, thrift, wholesome association, mountains and hills, trekking and hiking, flora and fauna, wildlife and social mores of family and traditions, and a cast in stone moral compass. Anjani a.k.a. Anju. A mentoring couple - family friends - got us together with “ both of you are similar nature nuts”. Never a greater truth! A daughter of Gondal, it’s culture and mindset inherited from grand parents: one a chief engineer of the state, and the other it’s education minister. An eye for art and a “no looking back” mindset from her father, pragmatism loaded with generosity and self-discipline from her mother with a love of nature and a bit of mischief thrown in created us - a pair with overflowing pride in our two daughters.

The art science and philosophies of yoga became our sustaining karma with the late Yogacharya Shri Bellur Krishnamachar Sunderraja Iyengar - Guruji in our life! A transformational guru-shishya association that enveloped us in an energetic, affectionate, positivity loaded yoga family. I retired in Vikram Samvat 2070 - Gregorian 2014, and began running off at the keyboard! Abhyaas, svadhyaaya, gnaan, history and origins of scriptures and inheritance of India’s ancient wisdom and knowledge in science, and human development, Sanskrit and Gujarati languages, and processes of education and transformation of information to knowledge became my domains of interest, along with a yearning to travel. Thus was born this blog.
